In the year 2002 Drushti Daan was brought into existence in Bhubaneswar with the help, dedication and untiring efforts of a few well meaning individuals having a desire to meaningfully contribute to the corneal blind in the State of Orissa, India.
Before Drushti Daan came into existence there was no Eye Bank, not even a Cornea Collection Centre, at Bhubaneswar. Relentless planning and groundwork along with the guidance and advice of few doctors and eminent people, brought Drushti Daan it’s registration as a Society under the Registration of Societies Act XXII of 1860 on the 6th March 2002. In the month of April it became an Institutional Life Member of the Eye Bank Association of India.
